Dr. Dauwe was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and at the top of his class in the honors business program at Southern Methodist University. He went on to attend the University of Texas Southwestern for four years of medical school and six years of plastic surgery residency. Dr. Dauwe was then selected for the University of Southern California aesthetic surgery fellowship where he studied advanced techniques in aesthetic surgery of the breast, body, and face.
We are proud to have Dr. Dauwe, a board-certified plastic surgeon, as the medical director of Bare Aesthetics. Owner of Dauwe Plastic Surgery located in Preston Hollow area of Dallas, TX, Dr. Dauwe holds the highest standards when it comes to skills, ethics, knowledge, patient safety, and, judgment- all qualities we value and implement in our practice. Can I work out after my appointment?We recommend you refrain from physical activity, especially when sweating is involved for a minimum of 24 hours.

Should I shave before my laser hair removal appointment?To prepare for your laser hair removal appointment, shaving is necessary. We suggest shaving the night before or morning of your appointment. Waxing, needle epilation, threading/tweezing is prohibited during the course of your laser hair removal treatments. A minimum of four to six weeks is necessary before laser hair removal can be performed if anything other than shaving has been done to the treatment area.

When should I stop using Retinol/Vitamin A or chemical exfoliants?These products should be discontinued a minimum of 5 days prior to your appointment for microneedling, chemical peel, or laser treatment. If you are prescribed a Retinoid by your healthcare provider, follow the given instructions.

How long will my filler last?Filler products consist of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally metabolized overtime by the body. Filler will last approximately 6-12 months. The length of time your filler will last is also dependent on many other lifestyle factors.

What filler products do you use?We use Juvéderm and Restylane products. Juvéderm is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler utilized to volumize cheeks, smooth facial wrinkles and folds, smooth lines around the mouth, or plump the lips. Restylane is an FDA-approved dermal filler formulated using non-stabilized hyaluronic acid(NASHA) technology to restore volume to the skin.

What are the benefits of laser hair removal?Laser hair removal is a long-term solution for unwanted hair. It is fast, precise, and offers permanent results. It also has fewer side effects than other hair removal methods and is much less painful.

What should I expect during my laser hair removal treatment?During your laser hair removal treatment, a clinician will guide a small laser hand piece over the area of unwanted hair. You may feel a slight warming sensation followed by a burst of cool air, but most patients find the treatment relatively comfortable.

Are there any risks associated with laser hair removal?While laser hair removal is generally safe and effective, there is a risk of side effects such as skin irritation, redness, and swelling. Rare complications also include hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation of the skin. It is important to speak to your clinician about any concerns before beginning treatment.

How long does each treatment session take?The length of each treatment session will depend on the size of the area being treated. Most treatments take between 15-60 minutes.
